The
Vilnius Department Store
is the biggest one in the centre of
the Vilnius city. It is situated at Gedimino Avenue, 18.
It is called "Vaikų pasaulis"
("The World of
Children").
It's one of the oldest shops in the capital city. Its history begins in
1914. The Department Store is visited by the residents of Vilnius city and
other districts of Lithuania and by foreigners also. This creates favorable
conditions for the development of commerce and business. |

Shareholdings of the Department Store was purchased by
the JSC "Status Financial Industrial Group"Ltd. in 1994.
Great attention was paid to the reconstruction of exterior
and interior of the building.
It was modernised into the centre of commerce. Due
the investments, the store became not only
the eldest and biggest historical building, but also the
most modern, respectable centre of commerce in the heart of Vilnius.

The
interior was radically changed and renovated. The
facade was repaired.
There
are no other commercial center as large as this one on Gedimino Avenue and adjacent
streets!
